Russi Espresso Bar is a lively cafe situated amongst the media-types in Tottenham Court Road, London.
One thing I like about the bar is the surroundings. Comfy sofas and friendly staff make you feel very welcome and at home. There are also big colourful photos on canvas that takes you through the ‘coffee journey’, from bean to cup.
Looking at their website (www.russiespressobar.co.uk) they have a great ethos around the ‘art and science’ of coffee. Carlos Russi, the founder of the cafe believes that to achieve a perfect coffee is by having a perfect espresso shot. The mission is to provide a perfect espresso shot every time they serve a customer. We think that’s great that a cafe is so focused on the quality of their coffee!
When I’ve been here before I usually enjoy a Latte. It’s nicer than most Latte’s I’ve tried as it never seems to be overflowing with froth like others. They are also smooth and creamy texture.
This time around I decided to try a cappuccino. It was exactly how I would expect a cappuccino to be – strong, but not too bitter in anyway.
As well as great coffee, they also offer a selection of food for breakfast and lunch. The cooked breakfast options in the morning seem to be a favourite amongst the regulars coming in.
Cafe Russi is definitely one I would recommend. If you are looking for simple, but a friendly and warm environment where good quality coffee is important, this is the place for you.
